UPDATED - Great Customer Service and improved product
After complaining to Sun Rise about the product (see below) I have to say Im impressed with their customer service and commitment to doing the right thing. They are now installing the Improved Check Valves before selling them and they refunded my cost on the shower system to help make up for the hassles. Thanks to Mike Chen for taking care of this customer.
The finish is good and the shower does its job. The pressure of the rain head and handheld are good.
However, when any faucet is turned on or off in the house the shower valve makes a loud BANGING noise. It's so loud that it can be heard everywhere in our 2,500 sq ft home!
After hours of plumbers' time, holes in walls and hundreds of dollars wasted, it turns out the valve they use is the weak link in the whole system. But apparently it can be fixed.
If you decide to buy this system contact Mike Chen in customer support, mikecheneyakult.com, and request the FREE Improved Check Valves (pictured here). These two tiny spring valves won't come with your purchase - but will resolve the banging noise. You just have to know what to ask for, wait a couple weeks for it to arrive, and reinstall the valve.
Considering that Sun Rise is willing to compromise their reputation, product quality and customer satisfaction over a part that costs a few pennies, I have to wonder what will go wrong next.
I originally planned to give this shower system 4 stars but because of the major design flaw in the valve, all the noise, and wasted expenses, I have to mark it down to 2 stars.
Thanks to Mike Chen for good customer service but the bottom line is - Buy Something Else and save yourself the headaches.
