Good small safe for the price.

Box didnt appear to be too damaged, but safe inside was dented pretty noticeably. No big deal, its not a show piece. Had some difficulty finding the reset buttons as they are not shown on the instructions (on inside of door on hinge side). Safe appears pretty sturdy, but someone with a good drill and hacksaw and enough time could rip into the side of this if they really wanted. The bolts that lock the door are solid hardened steel and are very robust. The biometric module seems a little plasticky and cheap when you unlock it. But it works and the programming could not be more simple. Make sure you clear a spot to bolt to the wall. On carpet it is not stable and could tip easily if not secured. Overall good quality with lots of features at a decent price. Better directions.

A sturdy, well made Strong Box

Let me start by saying that this item was well packaged from the factory with high density foam, and although the carton did bear some battle scars from shipping, the cabinet was in pristine condition. This cabinet is a secure Strong Box as opposed to it being a safe and is meant to safeguard weapons and make it extremely difficult for anyone to access them. I am confident that after securing this cabinet to my wall with the appropriate anchors, it will be very discouraging to would/be thieves to have to spend the amount of time it would take to actually access it. The programming of the biometric scanner was straight forward after I figured out where the red and green programming re/set buttons were located. (inside the door on the hinge side). It would have helped if I took the time to read the booklet cover to cover firstLol The other frustration was not first knowing that the door should remain in the open and in unlocked position while trying to reprogram the digital code. Once I cleared that hurdle, it was smooth sailing. It is nice that the cabinet comes with emergency access keys that are covered under a lifetime replacement warranty if you ever lose them, so be sure to copy down the cabinets serial number as well as the serial numbers of the keys. VERY IMPORTANT: This cabinet comes pre/programmed with two default digital codes of 111 and 123. Both codes need to be programmed, otherwise if you only program the first default code and forget to reprogram the second one, it can easily be opened by anyone who tries 123. UPDATE 07/17/2020 I have found the fingerprint scanner to be pretty finicky at times even after cleaning the lens. Ive had to clear out the previous prints and re/enter them a few times, and program different fingers but it is still doesnt open every time on the first attempt, which I find to be annoying. I did receive the complimentary door organizer as promised by the seller, and this thing is very well made and pretty much indestructible. It is constructed of rugged materials and is designed with clips that are simple to install and remain in place. Over all, I am very pleased with this cabinet and door panel organizer. Thank you! As you can see in the photo, I attached a simple base constructed out of scrap 2x6 pine lumber and a piece of 14 plywood that was spray painted black to blend it in with the cabinet. The purpose of the base is to elevate it from my garage floor to protect it from any potential water seepage and it elevates it a bit to ease bending while using the cabinet. Very nice.

Great Little Gun Locker

Shipping was fast. Got mine a week earlier than the email said. Packaging was excellent. It had cardboard covered edges, plastic covered corners and Styrofoam covered sides. Mine came in perfect condition. Fingerprint reader works perfectly. Love that. The three number pad seems a little easy to get by if you are trying to sneak your way into the safe. I would like the option to erase all numbered access codes. There are two codes that come from the factory that can be altered but not erased. Having only a three digit code that cannot be erased seems like it could be a security threat. I think most criminals or even kids could guess a three digit code with enough tries. It is not a fire safe. It is more of a heavy locker with a very secure front door. I knew what it was and it is what I wanted. Just dont be mislead. If you are looking for a fire/water rated safe, you need to spend more money. The only real bummer is that I read most of the other comments above me on the ad and the seller said that they were giving away a door organizer for free. I was really looking forward to it after reading all the comments and seeing that they were within a few weeks of my order. More than one person got it. I wanted to have mine organized like the photos that were posted. When my package came, it had no door organizer. I mean, I cant really complain since it was not advertised with the door organizer, it was not promised or purchased, I just thought I could get the same perk that others had gotten. If Moutec can help me jump through the hoops I would love a little help, not sure what need to do. Overall, a great experience and I would have given a perfect 5 stars if all my hopes and dreams had been realized with the door organizer. Would definitely buy again.

Definitely Secure but Fingerprint reader leaves much to be desired

The fingerprint reader only works when you put your finger on it just right. Its definitely not ideal for quick access but thankfully the pushbutton lock and key provides a good backup. Thanks.

Please read all The door is heavy enough to tip it if its not secured to the wall, but it does come with mounting holes and hardware so it works for me. The quality of the paint inside was quite poor but no one will really see it and it will do the job none the less. The manual has a few misspelling and a little confusing. Things you should know before writing a 1 star review: the safe is 14 gauge steel (stated in the product description) which is not like a thick metal and the weight is around 88 lbs (also stated in the product description) so dont assume its a thick bank safe or something that a couple intruder arnt going to be able to pick up unmounted. Second, the manual will confuse some people dont assume the electronics dont work right off the bat, contact the customer service on the back. The big thing with ordering this safe is that it does work and the customer service is really good, Alan contacted me and got my finger print registration working, I assume the few 1 star reviews that say the finger print registration doesnt work were having the same problem as me, it wasnt working simply because I was holding the reset button until the first beep when youre only suppose to press it and release it instantly. This is most likely due to the manual because the section before on resetting the safe states to hold it for 10 seconds until you hear a continuous sound after a beep; this first beep is what I assumed I was suppose to hold it to in the next section for fingerprint registration. Overall, Im happy. The quality of the paint is poor and the manual is a little confusing, but the customer service is great which Trumps a lot of smaller things in life. Minus 1 star only because the poor paint released from the manufacturer. Best purchase yet!

Great safe and fits my needs!

I was looking for something affordable that wasnt too heavy to move. I came across the Moutec and this fits the bill. The safe arrived fully padded. I was able to move it upstairs by myself. I wasnt sure how well the biometric would work but so far its been great with easy access. The ring that locks and unlocks the safe seems loose and has a plastic feel but works fine. Ive only had the safe for a month so will see how well it does long term. The empty safe will tip when the door is open, therefore bolting it down is recommended. Its very well built and keeps my kids safe from my firearms. So far I like it a lot and would recommend it! Bless your hearts.

It came quickly, shipped fully installed. Very easy to use, the fingerprint scanner works great. The lockbox on top is an added bonus. The value for the money is great. worth the money

I was pleased with the quick shipping. The steel on the side walls is thin, but the door of the gun safe and the biometrics are excellent quality. The safe weighs 88 pounds, once it is bolted down, there is no problem or concern about movement. The seller went above and beyond with their customer service. They provided me with a hand gun door organizer free of charge. (45 dollar value). You will need to contact them to receive the organizer. The organizer is excellent quality and I had no problems installing it. Overall great value for the money paid. Well worth the purchase.
