Surprisingly solid feel once assembled. I test all for my children by lying in it. If it can support my 220 pounds, then it will be fine for my children. The steps are much safer than a ladder and provide extra space as a book shelf under the middle step and the boys think its cool! Took about 2 hours to assemble with my wife helping. Drawers feel like they could rip apart easily, but they open and close nice and seem fine. support for mattresses seems prone to bending, so we use bunkie boards to distribute the weight better.
