This couch comes and is exactly as pictured. There is some assembly, but it is done very quickly and with no tools. However, if you are looking for the plushness and comfort of an at home sofa, this is not for you. It looks amazing in my apartment, but it is not soft and the layers of cushion are not thick. Definitely would be great as a waiting room couch for a business or a formal sitting room.
