Perhaps it was because I bought a used like new version from but this was a hot mess. The description said it was new but the box was damaged so it was just repackaged. It was 30 cheaper and a 160 chair for a childs room seemed ludicrous to me. Lesson learned. The actual chair was adorable/ comfortable and as expected but the stem and base were not compatible. They didnt hold in place because there were no hydraulics in the female end of the base assembly. The stem that was connected to the chair just slipped all the way to the floor. The instructions didnt even appear for this chair Returning and begrudgingly paying full price for the correct parts.
