We ordered the 78 inch sofa in riverfront brown, and Im pretty happy with this couch. It came in a pretty big box, but still small enough that I worried there was no way they had actually managed to fit the whole couch inside. I thought surely they must have left some pieces out, because there was no way everything we needed was in that one box. But I was wrong! It really did all fit in the box! It probably took my husband and I about an hour to assemble, because we had some trouble getting holes to line up for the bolts to go through. It was a little frustrating, but after playing around with it a bit, we were ultimately able to get the bolts in and it was no big deal. I found that the cushions expanded to their full size quickly and looked great right away. The back of the couch is hollow, and I found that weird, so I stuffed it with some extra foam pillows we had lying around. (The material on the back is attached with Velcro, which made this possible to do. see attached photo) The material is exactly what I was hoping for, but the color is a little different. I think the couch looks a lot darker in the pictures online, but its really not a big deal, because color can be a tricky thing to capture, and Im still happy with the color it turned out to be. The two accent pillows are a nice touch. Its a comfortable couch for the most part, but I will say that my husband and I wish it was a little deeper, and maybe had a higher back on it. But still, the seat cushions are memory foam and very comfortable, and the material is comfortable to sit on too. Another benefit of the corduroy material is that it seems to hold up well to our cat, who enjoys scratching the couch. Ive seen some materials that show damage almost instantly (like microfiber, suede, linen, etc), but I havent seen any damage on this fabric yet.
Some possible cons:
1. The couch is very lightweight and we noticed it has the potential to tip over backwards easily, so that is something to be mindful of if you have children. It would probably be best to have this couch against a wall if that were the case.
2. I wish the arms of the couch were higher and had more padding, but thats no deal breaker in my opinion.
3. And again, I say, I REALLY wish the couch was deeper, but for the price we paid (300), I feel it is a very good sofa for now.
Seems like the couch stands a good shot at lasting us for a few years at least. It would be great to have a bigger couch that could seat more people, but again, for the price, Im happy with this couch. It can sit three adults no problem, and our kids like it too.
Its my couch in a box!
