    Fine desk, with some quirks.

The table top is laminate over MDF, which gives me some concern regarding its overall durability. That said, I was fortunate enough to receive my unit without any visible damage. I will definitely be replacing this tabletop with something more solid, however. It comes with two pieces which are mated via dowels and held together with square metal plates on the underside. I would have personally preferred longer plates myself, with a 1x4 row of screws instead of 2x2, but I cant say for sure that my way would be an improvement. The actual frame went together without a hitch, though one of the holes securing one of the feet wasnt tapped correctly so I was only able to get three out of four bolts screwed in. This doesnt really compromise the desk in any functional way, but it bears mentioning. The controller allows not only for raising and lowering the desk, but has a digital readout for the desk height as well as four spots for presets, which are nice additions. It would have been nice to have pre/drilled holes to mount the controller on the other side of the desk, but to each their own. I was concerned after reading reviews showing that the desk would not level, but I didnt run into this issue. The grommets on either side of the desk are nice, though a grommet in the rear center would have been useful, too. I did not use the included drawer as I had no need for it. Im sure this was to cut down on cost, but the drawer is made of fabric and is just too flimsy to be useful for me. I also did not install the cable basket, as I find them detrimental to organizing cable runs. Overall its a fine desk, but can suffer from some corner/cutting on QA and questionable choices.
