I was searching for a shelf that would fit in with my Rustic/ Farmhouse look and would work as a stand for my 20 gallon fish tank. The look of this was perfect and I instantly fell in love with it. I looked at the description and way too many reviews to try and find the maximum weight that the top shelf could handle with no such luck. So I decided to try it anyways. I assembled it and it seemed very sturdy. I put the fish tank on top right in the center and filled it up with water. I tested the sturdiness again and it would move a little bit but not enough to cause concern. I liked the thought of the drawer so I could put the fish food and filters in it, however, when I went to open the drawer it would not open. I noticed the top was bowing from the weight of the fish tank. So I moved the fish tank to the left side of it, all the way against the side of it. The drawer now opens now but just disappointed that I couldnt center the fish tank. You wont regret it!
Will not hold a 20 gallon fish tank
