Attractive and more durable than most storage benches these days
I purchased the white and honey bench, and while it is a little more pricey than other benches, it is well worth the cost. It comes assembled and is made of a more solid wood rather than the cheap, cardboard feeling MDF wood used for many smaller furniture products these days. The wood base is framed, which I much prefer over benches with short legs, because it gives it a classic look, provides extra stability, and helps prevent it from moving.
The cushion is padded but not overly thick. Its not attached to the bench--it removes so you can take the slipcover off for washing, and theres no zipper, just an overlapping back flap--but it doesnt move around because it fits snuggly into the three walled sides of the top of the bench. We have the bench at the foot of our bed, and its nice and compact so it doesnt take up loads of space, plus we have a small doggy staircase next to it that our dogs use. They havent tried to jump on the bench yet, and I dont know if they will, so we will see if the cushion remains in place if they use it as a step to the bed.
Finally, the three drawers are modestly sized, making them perfect for small throw blankets, sheets, and pillowcases. The slots in front provide circulation so the contents are always getting air, but do note that anything of a bright color that you place in the drawers will peep through the slots, especially the cutout for your fingers that serves as a handle. The drawers arent very deep, so you cant really push contents that are cloth to the back to keep them away from the slots.
