Great looking and large enough, but has some strange angles that prevent real comfort
First of all this chair is built really well. If you keep it treated (I reseal all my cedar every March) then its going to last forever. It is a fine piece of furniture that looks really nice. It was easy to put together by myself (bad back and all), and easy to tighten up.
I love rocking chairs and always wanted a nice one for my porch - this was my pick. It rocks smoothly and is large enough to fit a really large person - no cutting off circulation to my legs. I discovered that I already had some chair pads that exactly fit this rocking chair from some old lawn furniture.
The problem - I sit in the chair and I am held at an angle just a few degrees off from being comfortable - its a little weird. It puts a small amount of strain on my lower back I am not expecting when sitting. I have a cedar bench that doesnt do this - so its the chair. I tried putting a chair pad onto the rocking chair and one problem is solved while another appears - now the back is pushed too far forward. This is frustrating.
I may eventually find or make something that fixes this angle problem, but for now I have a really nice looking extra-large rocking chair that will last forever that is slightly uncomfortable. Sigh.
