When purchasing I thought that the bar was made of wood. It is not. Its metal. Its not very sturdy, but ok to use if youre not putting any weight on it. Im using this bar for home use only. Ive been doing ballet barre classes for 5 years, want to be able to practice at home as well as in the studio. I wouldnt recommend this particular bar for children. Its way too wobbly.
