Excellent price for this chair. I tried it out at the store. All mechanicals work perfectly. The upholstery is a wonderful deep dark gray. It was purchased for heavier person, about 511. The back is tall enough, even a bit high. The back rest reclines independently to nearly flat (think like a bed with a pillow. The footrest raises to about the height of the seat. With the head fully reclined and the foot fully raised, it is a comfortable sleep position.
The BUT . the seat remains flat. This is perfect if you have had recent back surgery. There will be no shift through your pelvis. HOWEVER, if you expect the position of a Ly Boy, you may not be as happy.
The second BUT is the firmness of the seat. It has good support but you are not sitting on a plush pillow, more like a firm mattress. HOWEVER adding a foam seat cushion solved that issue.
The third BUT is that, in a seated position, the heels of this taller people overhung the footrest. Some find this more comfortable. HOWEVER, when fully reclined, there was enough room for the feet to be fully supported.
The chair will raise to a near fully standing position, more than needed here but excellent if a caregiver is assisting someone to transfer to a walker.
I cant remark on the longevity but am hopeful that it has a long life. I would purchase this chair again as it saved over 50 of the quoted delivered sales price from the store. Working well.
Excellent Value but .
