Before a bought I checked the reviews and the dimensions carefully. Noted people were using it as a day bed or for a quest room. My father is ninety two and my mother died two years ago. He felt lost in his old bed, there was no one to cuddle with. Then it was too high for him to get in or out easy without falling. A hospital bed was expensive and not needed. This turned out to be a perfect solution , it is eight inches lower then his old bed and a foot narrower. The mattress that they sell separately is a dual box spring and mattress. The bed is and sturdy and the mattress comfortable. My father is sleeping better and less chance of a fall. Was easy to setup and quality good just not great. Though have to say for the price I doubt you could find better. Last I bought from this company before and I like them. I honestly love
