This bed was a perfect present for our four/year/olds birthday. He is so excited to sleep on the top bunk. We love the storage and the sturdiness of the bed itself. However, it did come with flaws. One of the pieces of the drawers had a significant scratch and both of the under bed drawer fronts had flaws in the paint almost like scratches.
And just as a sidenote: Once you attach the steps to the main bed it is not easily slid because the only way it is anchored is just the back post. It should also be anchored in the front. We had to adjust the bed placement and the stairs quickly pulled away from the bed itself. So be careful!
The drawers do not go the entire length of the bed so in order to cover that I put up a make shift bedskirt to hide it.
Like other reviewers mentioned, it did take quite a bit of time to build. However, we built the bed itself on a Friday afternoon/evening so the little man could sleep in it. The drawers and steps were assembled the next morning and were done by naptime! Perfect in every way.
