You WILL need a rubber mallet, and if you arent tall, changing this is a REAL c hallenge.

Youll need a rubber mallet to smack things into place. We had all the pieces needed and it eventually went together okay, but you WILL need a rubber mallet to get some of the parts fully together. Follow the directions, dont tighten anything until the very end, and as long as the pieces go where they ought to youll be okay. Downsidesbesides the assembly? Its a little TOO tall, and at 52 and 58 were going to have to use a stepladder to c hange the sheets. If you arent tall and your kid isnt old enough to climb up and help change sheets, its a bad choice. Were going to have to move it away from the wall just so we can get sheets on. Ladder steps are narrow for an adult but work just fine for our five/year/old and we dont have much in the way of complaints except for the putting/it/together problems and the difficulty in changing sheets. This isnt minor/annoyance level of difficulty, its holy/hell/Im/going/to/have/to/crawl/up/there levels of difficulty. Changing a bed with low clearance while youre ON it is no fun at all. If we had to do this over again, wed get one about 6 inches shorter or with wider spacing between slats so we could change it with less headache. If you arent tall and dont have a rubber mallet handy, Id skip this for another bed. Bless your hearts.
