A couple inches shorts than a standard bunk bed, which is super nice.
The only downside we have found so far is that the ladder is super uncomfortable and a little painful on your feet to climb. Will need to put some foam on the ladder.
Edited to add: It is now May 29, 2020 / the bed is holding up super well. No issues. We added padding to the steps as mentioned above. Added pictures of our DIY cushions. We used the skinny sized pool noodle and ended up only needing one. Then sewed some washable covers for them. Easy to assemble just takes a while
