Assembly was a smooth process. 8 mattresses work great for bottom. If I could go back I might would order a 10 mattress for the top but this 8 is fine for us. Material on frame is so soft and a bold color. Love it! Trundle also rolls really smooth. Havent tried to lock it yet so not sure about that part very sturdy and stylish
