The bed is fairly sturdy, but does wobble a little. The ladder rings do hurt your feet so you will need to purchase foam pipe insulation (the kind that has the split down the center) to pad the rails. You might want to put some up top as well for safety. The directions are vague but common sense will help you thru that. Other than that, my boys really like the bed. It took us about 3.5 hours to put together. Not fun but the boys enjoyed it. And its over now so it really doesnt matter. All in all, for the money, we love the bed. Also, the ladder ends up being at the front of the futon, not the back as shown in the picture. Maybe that was an error on our part, but it worked out better in our room layout so we are happy.
