Plan on at least three hours to build this bed. The instructions are fairly clear, but take a moment to make sure the screw holes line up or else youre bound to unscrew components that you previously assembled. There is a part where you have to put together the mattress support for the top bunk. The instructions make it seem painless and simple. I recommend using a hammer to insert these plastic snaps and even then it still is an incredibily long process and painful if you start using your hands. With all that being said.the bed is extremely comfortable and sturdy. A 200 lb guy slept in the top bunk and there were no scary moments. Good buy if you have time and a friend to help you build. Very happy with product
