    READ BEFORE PURCHASING

I have a small studio apartment and I needed to maximize my living space. This does the trick for me. If your looking for functionality over quality, this is the bed for you. I think it should be priced about 100 less for several reasons. The box is very long and heavy to lift with a lot of pieces to assemble. Im a handy woman and I have a handy boyfriend who helped and It takes a couple hours to put together. Yes, You definitely need help. Helpful tip: if you want to speed up the building process, saw the curved end off the provided Allen wrench, stick it in a drill and voila! Annoyingly, one of the two ladder bars was faulty and did not fit, so I only have one ladder (which doesnt compromise the structure, so it was fine with me. Plus we were halfway through putting it together when we realized it and I wasnt about to take it apart and send it back). Once built, the whole frame itself is very wobbly and moves when climbing the ladder and rolling around in bed. Be prepared for this. There is no avoiding this unless you secure it directly to the wall. It seems like the company could supply more support bars on sides by the ladder that would make it more secure, but they didnt bother to add them. The ladder hurts your bare feet badly. You need to buy cushioning, which I feel should really be provided by the company. I went to Home Depot and bought Foam Pipe Insulation covers. Theyre cheap and look much better than pool noodles and fit perfectly over the ladder steps without needing to be taped or secured down. My full Nectar mattress would not fit into it horizontally, but I personally wanted to leave one of the side rails off to make it look less bunk bed like and more stylish. It doesnt compromise the structure, just looks better. (See photo). Im 57 135lbs and I feel secure and safe when in it. I have an 8 foot ceiling and I can sit up in it. My boyfriend has even slept with me a few times and we were okay. So it does support weight just fine. Once youre up top and sleeping, all is well. So, If youre looking for long term quality, spend more money on a wooden loft or get a twin mattress loft bed. Ive accepted the faults Ive listed above because it works for me in my studio apartment. Hope this review helps someone else out there! not satisfied with product
