I bought this kitchen cart to have some storage space on my lanai.
This cart came packed very well, but one of the doors still had some slight damage. I didnt contact the manufacturer, because the process of getting a replacement part from them is too cumbersome.
I am bummed that the little crack is on one of the doors, but since it doesnt interfere with the functionality of the cart, I let it be.
The cart needs to be self/assembled, and if you have never assembled a small piece of furniture before, I would recommend you get some help.
The cart comes with step by step assembly instruction that are mainly image sketches and not many words. Each part plus the hardware have a letter assigned for identification, on the sketches. Unfortunately the parts themselves dont have any letter stickers on them, so you might have to get back to the instruction manuals content page and compare the parts to the sketches, to make sure you have the correct one.
I have done small furniture assembly before, so it took me about 45/60 minutes to put it together completely.
Considering the price for this item is on the lower end, it is of very good quality, and doesnt look cheap at all. The doors come with (unadjustable) hinges and magnetic closures.
There is a tip in the instruction manual what to do, should the doors not sit/close evenly.
However, I had no problems whatsoever with that. I assembled the doors according to the instructions and they sat evenly in the frame and closed and opened without problems.
There is a pack of decorative covers in the hardware package, so you can cover visible screw holes. The pewter colored door/and drawer knobs make the car look really elegant.
Two of the 4 wheels have brakes, and the cart stands sturdy, when those are closed.
There are only two different kinds of screws in the package, and one allan wrench. You just need to use your own phillips screw driver for a few of the screws, and you are ready to assemble .
I really like the way the back wall and drawer bottom are assembled. They are put in the notches of their respective frame, and held in very sturdy (without moving around) by just screwing the frames together correctly. No messing around with having to hammer in a bunch of small nails in the back.
I would have given this item 5 stars, if the pieces had been marked according to the instruction manual. That would have made the assembly easier and quicker.
Another little hoopla for me was the fact that you cant just call the manufacturer to get a defect part replaced. You need to send them some paperwork with proof of purchase first, as I said earlier, it is somewhat cumbersome.
Other than that I am really satisfied with what I got, and I believe I will be able to put this cart to good use for many years.
