I was incredibly pleased with the tolerancing for the parts. Everything fit together snugly, exactly how it should, but didnt require power tools for assembly. Also, there was plenty of glue for every single hole. I was also impressed by the wood construction: The particle board core is surrounded by about an inch of pressed material that is much denser. I anticipate that this piece of furniture will last a long time, even if we continue to move every few years.
I would agree with the review saying that the shelves are smaller than portrayed in the pictures. I cant even stand a DVD case on both levels. I could adjust the shelf and have one shelf for DVDs, but then the other shelf would be tiny. They are fine for game and cable consoles, however, which is what I mostly needed them for, so its no big loss to me. Im sure Ill find things that fit on the side shelves, too. Maybe my tiny book collection.
