WARNING: I started to assemble this bed today and it was not making sense. The parts did not match the image in the directions. I called the manufacturer, the first person I spoke with said maybe they were mislabeled and I should try to switch the parts. Then I found another part that did not match. I called again. The second person I spoke with said, Oh, sorry. The directions and parts have changed, you received the old directions. REALLY She then emailed me a PDF of the correct directions. They did make sense, but saying that, there is no way anyone could do this in an hour. Also, the slats are a pain to insert and the plastic tabs that hold them in place are very difficult to insert. I put them in boiling water to soften them up. This helped a LOT! It is finally assembled and does seem pretty sturdy. Most bunk beds have an opening. This bed requires you to lift your legs over the bars. Again, dont even begin to assemble unless you are certain you have the correct directions. Good Luck. (P.S. When I called the manufacturer I actually got a live person on the phone with the first ring / aming!!)
