I have a son who is very hard on furniture but took a chance on this as the slats were out of metal (most places dont understand wood slats are a horrible idea for kids). Im happy to say that its still going strong and I like that he has a place to hide underneath but isnt too far off the ground because little boys are fearless. The only drawback is that the instructions werent as clear as I hoped so it took me much longer to put together than I think it should. If your child has autism, sensory processing disorder, or something like that I would definitely recommend.
