adorable and impractical like go-go boots - I love them.
These are SO neat looking - very 1970s. Theyre like The Mary Tyler Moore Show meets the Starship Enterprise kind of mod look. They remind me of go-go boots and frosted lipstick. Despite the fact that they are just this side of stage props in terms of strength and durability, their stylishness totally makes up for it. For the PRICE, they are terrific. They are incredibly easy to assemble (I am as UNmechanical as they come, and I had no problems,) and they raise and lower very easily. Are they the most comfortable stools? No, theyre not. BUT, they definitely are sittable especially if youve got a breakfast bar or counter in front of them (you have to sort of perch on them - but with that said, they are NOT tippy.) Anyway, their stellar cuteness makes up for anything they lack. If you are expecting lasting high quality out of these, you will be quite disappointed, BUT, what do you want for around $40 bucks a chair? Warning: Large people or physically weak people (like the elderly) would probably not be able to negotiate them very well. If youre a reasonable size and weight and can pick up a gallon of milk and stand on one leg simultaneously, then you can sit on them. Theyre pure frippery, and what is wrong with that?
