I was very surprised with these chairs. The reviews are kind of all over the place. You get a lot for your money here. Are they the best most sturdy chairs ever made? No but they get the job done for those under 250 pounds. The base, pole, footrests are all solid chrome plated steel. The chair is covered with pleather that looks in fact like real leather. I got the white ones for a more modern look. You can rock a bit in them if you try, but for the most part they are very sturdy. While driving wine and sitting at the kitchen island and moving all around I had no sense that the chair would tip over with me at 175 pounds. It took me about half an hour to get them both together. Adjustable height feature works flawlessly, and that most likely will be the weak link if anything ever goes wrong.
