Once this is put together, it looks gorgeous! It is sturdy and the storage is great. It's dark enough that I can shove all my random cords into it, close the glass door, and nobody can tell.
I love having a fire in my living room. The fire does look realistic and if you turn on the heater, you will have that element, too. The only thing missing is the crackling sound of fire. I do miss that, but if you don't have a fireplace, this is a reasonably priced alternative that you can bring with you when you move.
Biggest con is that this wasn't easy to put together. A lot of the pieces felt flimsy, although it gets sturdier as it goes together. If you've ever put something like this together, you know exactly what I mean. It's not any more difficult than similar items. HOWEVER, Screwing the fireplace in was a PAIN. It involved a flashlight, tape, and lots and lots of practice. Save yourself some frustration and make sure you have a magnetic screwdriver on hand when you put this together.
