My son is pretty hefty 220, I spent hours online searching for the right bunk beds that would support his weight, Im disappointed!! It said up to 300 lbs but then I read its 250 but still even at 220 when my son would be getting on or off and the majority of his body together in an area as to climb off/on I can see the rails bend!! Its too much for to take apart and rebox to send back so now Im just stuck with institutional looking frame in my 4 yr old and 14 yr olds room and noone can sleep on the top I can separate them sure but the point of ordering bunks were to save space! I wished I would have just got two wood framed nice twin beds if two beds was how I had to go instead of this!! It was ok to get past the metal cold look if they were serving the purpose intended.
