The 250 lb weight limit I question to some degree considering the integrity of the ladder and the upper bunk. However, our 33 lb. nearly 4-year old loves it. We bought 2, 8 mattresses and, in hindsight, we should have stuck w/ 6 max for the upper bunk. But, hopefully this kid is durable. Lol. Assembly didnt suck as bad as Ikea furniture assembly, but it wasnt a walk in the park either. The instructions can mislead you to assemble it incorrectly, causing an extra hour to unassemble and flip it around and re-assemble it... the instructions just werent crystal clear. So, pay close attention. I wish theyd not use the worlds toughest adhesive on the 2 large, white warning labels (yes, I get that we arent supposed to remove them, but Im a rebel, I removed them anyway.... Typically Id use Goof-Off to remove labels and adhesives, but it quickly appeared to be removing the black finish off the beds. So, I switched to Windex, lots of paper towels and some good ole fashioned elbow grease. It took 6 hours and 3 beers, but we got this bad boy assembled and the kid loves it. All in all, we dig it and were glad its a done deal. Great price for the product, really.
