We bought this for my 2.5yr old who was upgrading to a Big/Boy/Boy. We got the bunk beds anticipating sleep overs from his cousins in the future. Being a veteran at purchasing DIY/Assembly furniture, I set aside a whole Saturday to put this together, expecting to engineer a solution to missing parts or things that didnt line up or fit properly. This took me 1.5hrs to assemble going a nice leisurely pace. I did not encounter any of the problems I was expecting. I appreciated that the manufacturer included a few extra en dowels since I smashed one on accident. A few tips for those assembling this. Per the top and bottom, snug all the bolts as you progress, once the part is assembled, then go back and tighten everything good and tight. Also, the en dowels are VERY tight in the rails. I found it easier to set them in the rail, then sink them about half way down with a rubber mallet (DO NOT USE A REGULAR HAMMER YOU WILL SMASH THE DOWEL / I learned the hard way.) A few improvement for the manufacturer. Maybe put grip/tape or grit/paint on the ladder rungs, they are a little slippery in socks. Consider including 1 or 2 extra screws 6 and Barrel Nuts 9. When you drop these and they roll under other furniture, its nice to keep building and recover those lost items after you are done. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I will provide updates to this review should my feelings change in either direction.
Great deal for the price
