Large oblong holes NEED to face up(ceiling)

Okay, so I always read the negative reviews first. Most of them complained about the assembly taking forever and gaps? The desk almost defeated me, Ill admit to that. I pulled all of the pieces out(left the boards inside till the frame was built), made sure I had every part. Yep, good to go. I built it by myself, no exterior help, no SO or degreelol, i put the boards on top and the holes dont line up and there is a massive gap, what the heck. I take the desk apart, thought I had everything correctly, nope. If you zoom in on the picture on the site look closely at the holes. The small holes with a ridge, youre probably thinking those are to support/cushion the boards, well at least I did. I was wrong, make sure those holes (small and with a ridge)are facing outwards of your desk sooo towards the wall, they are for the support bars. The large oblong holes need to face upwards(ceiling) those are for the boards that go on top. I reassemble the desk, the other support bars that are for the boards were a little difficult to put inhad to loosen bolts and then make sure things were snug but not too snug but its all together and no more gap! It took awhile5+ hours(also working in a small area) but the desk is built. Its Hella sturdy, its holding up my 70 lbs pc and monitor along with a microscope. There is more room for two more monitors and omg the leg room is sooo nice too! I definitely recommend this desk.
