takes a lot of time to assemble and some parts dont fit well
This furniture is very attractive and sturdy, but was a bear to assemble. I followed the directions to a T, first making sure each part was present and counting all of the screws, cams, etc., before starting to assemble. All parts were present and there was even a bag of extras in case some were missing (great!). However, not only was assembling this very time consuming, but early on I found that a factory-glued block on one of the pieces was crooked, so would not fit the piece it was supposed to attach to. When I found out that a new part was not easy or quick to get, I pried off the block and reglued/pin-nailed it myself into the correct position and then it fit the way it was supposed to. On day two I spent a long time meticulously following directions to finish the piece. The hinges on the doors use machine screws (blunt ends) rather than wood screws (pointed ends), and were extremely difficult to thread into the factory-drilled holes. I ended up using three short wood screws as substitutes for the machine screws that wouldnt go in. Drawer assembly was simple, but one of the drawers doesnt fit smoothly and must be maneuvered into place in the finished piece when opening and closing. I feel that this piece is very overpriced considering that it is not preassembled, took a very long time to put together, and one of the drawers doesnt fit properly. Other buyers may have different experiences, but mine was frustrating.
