Surprisingly solid bed. Recently blended my family with another just like the Brady Bunch. Since we dont have 7 bedrooms, a pair of the girls have to double up so a bunk bed was the logical choice. The original plan was to cut down a few trees to build a bed by hand. Instead, $200 on seemed like a more practical option.
Arrived several days earlier than anticipated but FEDEX delivered to the wrong address. Being the holiday season, the recipients quickly took the two boxes inside their house then refused to answer the door after the delivery driver realized his mistake so he just left a note on our door. Oops. My bad. Mrs. Brady then hunted him down with a baseball bat and Tiger to remind him that he had one job. Soon, one box was delivered... He forgot the other box on the truck. Worst driver ever... Where is Sam when you need him?
This was the first building project that Mrs. Brady and I accomplished together. After a few cocktails, the bed was together. Both of us paid close attention to the drawings so there was minimal rework. The only issue that we really had was that we want the ladder in a different spot. Between the two of us and our two brightest kids, we were unable to figure out how to change the assembly of the bed to put the ladder we it should be. The slats dont look like they will fit because the pre-drilled holes dont line up but start at one end and stretch the slats to reach the holes. We installed the all of the larger hex head screws first then went back to the Phillips head screws to save time by not having to change bits frequently assembling the slats. Assembly was sped up with a hex head bit through in a drill.
The bed is solid. The girls are petite preteens so this bed works out for them. Id recommend this bed to others.
Time for Mrs. Brady and I go to read some books in bed....
Surprised by quality
