We bought this bunk bed for a guest room. We thought itd be a fun thing for adult guests, being big kids ourselves, to sleep in bunk beds when visiting. Plus, our guest room is very small, so bunk beds seem to be the best space saving option.
The quality is very nice. The assembled beds are quite sturdy, with a max weight of 165lbs. The instructions assume you common sense, because they leave out certain key factors, like which direction the long side supports go. The finish is beautiful, dark espresso, so it fits well with any décor. The beds simply sit on top of each other, with a support rod preventing them from slipping, so all you have to do is lift the top bunk off the bottom frame and youll have two twin beds. The ladder needs reinforcement for heavier Top Bunkers and you will need to add some no-slip strips to prevent sock wearers from slipping off. The wooden slats support for the mattresses are very sturdy and I have no fear of destroyed mattresses or worse falling through!.
My only real gripe about this bunk bed is that there isnt enough room to sit up straight when sitting on the bottom bunk. An adult will definitely hit their head on the top bunk, unlike the several bunk beds we tested in stores.
This bunk bed set is perfect for smaller sized children.
Not great for guest room.
