I am a 20-something, so my budget for a decent bed wasnt as abundant as I would have preferred, so when looking for my new bed frame, I had to limit myself to budget-friendly options such as , South Shore, and . After seeing the very mixed reviews of the South Shore platform bed, I decided to be the guinea pig for this bed because it had no reviews and I felt the price was right. I received it and put it together today. The instructions state putting it together is a 2-hour process. They also recommended two or more people on this job. However, Im sure youll be happy to know that this frame can very easily be put together by yourself. It took me about 2 and a half hours from start to finish. Everything went together pretty smoothly and the finished product looks pretty nice.
There are a couple of tips I have for anyone getting this bed,
1: Have grease on hand for the screws. I wish I had some grease around during the process because a few of the screws were kind of iffy going in dry. Always remember to unscrew them and screw them in again if you encounter hard resistance. A bed is not something Id want to strip threads on.
2: The plastic pieces that secure the slats to the frame have pegs the go into holes in the frame. These pegs can bend or even break fairly easily if you dont make sure the pegs are EXACTLY where they need to be before pushing down to secure.
At this point, I have only put it together and have not yet slept on it. Once I have a few weeks of sleep on it, Ill update this review.
Looks good so far.
