The material is definitely stretchy, it took me a few minutes to get it stretched over the couch. The material is soft, not sure about water resistance yet, since my kids nor dog have made any messes on it yet. I ordered dark gray which looks like charcoal gray in the stock pictures. But I would say they have blueish color in them which I dont care for. Other then that, I like them so far.
