I definitely would not have paid more than $249 (including shipping) a piece but over all these are not bad chairs. It seems strange that the price fluctuates so much but maybe someone would be willing to pay more than retail of $249. The fabric is soft and the swivel glider parts are very nice for the quality of chair.
