Husband put it together so not sure how hard it was, but did not take him too long. The cushions are not thick, and it's not a big set in height or width. Comes with 2 individual chairs and the bench chair. Only 2 non large people can sit on the bench chair. To add context, I'm 56 195 lbs and hubby is 67 210 lbs and we are extremely close to each other on it, but it works for us. I will upgrade to thicker Cushions though.
