Figured out how to make the water hot with this unit!!!!!!
Like many who have posted, we love the unit but could not figure out a way to make it hotter. The solution is actually pretty simple if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. I had a plumber friend remove the valve and open it up. The inside of the valve has a white insert that has a tab (stop) that prevents the valve from turning past 45 degrees. For those of you have this unit installed, you will notice the handle only moves (at best) 45 degrees in either direction. He used a pocket knife to shave off the tab. There are also tabs on the red rubber piece that you see right when you take the valve cover and decorative piece out. He shaved those off as well. Common sense prevailed when you think about the handle not turning further. The alternative would be to be a separate valve and use the shower head and wand with a nicer, more common valve. The whole process was rather annoying but it worked out in the end. Hope this helps anyone who is currently taking lukewarm showers with this unit. Guessing it would take an experienced plumber about an hour with these notes. We did contact the manufacturer and the solutions they provided did not help. These included checking the water supply and looking for debris behind the tiny white screens just before the body of the valve.
