Glad I read the reviews, so I was prepared with clamps, painters tape, and a variety of other tools to get the job done. Putting the bed together was a challenge, but I did it successfully by myself in under 4 hours. Im glad I did not build it with my husbands assistance, as It would have surely irreparably damaged our marriagebetter I curse at myself than him LOL.
Once built, the bed is BEAUTIFUL, and my parents (a combined 300ish pounds) reported it was quite comfortable and sturdy. I purchased a hybrid spring/memory foam mattress from to go with it, and no additional board was needed to support the mattress, the the bed comes with were sufficient. It is tall enough to have a roll away trundle underneath.
Happy with my purchasebut would not ever want to set it up again
