This bed came packaged extremely well. even with the rough handling a package of this weight endures, there wasn't a scratch on any of the boards. Assembled easily. It is put together using dowels and bolts. I chose to put wood glue in the dowel holes on the parts that never need to be disassembled (Headboards and footboards)
