Took a star for one thing. The top of this has no finished top. Its open and you can see the screws and mounting blocks and unpainted wood when looking down on it. Where mine is in an entryway with a set of stairs, its bogus to look down onto it to see ugly mdf, screws and mounting points.
Otherwise its super solid and the look is great. All the parts came in good shape. Everything went together well.
