We have had a terrible experience with this bed and the free assembly that was included. First-- one of the parts was sent without the proper holes drilled. The assembly company wouldnt drill holes because they were worried about the warranty.
We called the company who assured us the holes could be drilled-- and the warranty wouldnt be voided. But they also sent us a replacement part.
HOWEVER-- when the replacement part arrived-- it was ALSO broken.
Again, the assembly company would not put together the bed. We ordered the bed December 31. It is now February 10-- over a month later. We still dont have a bed.
My husband just called the bed company, who said they will not accept a return-- because the bed is out of its original packaging. They offered to send us the part again (this would be the third time) and give us 100 dollars. But after a month of waiting on a bed... and coordinating two different assembly teams.... moving the bed in and out of our room... and having a giant unfinished bed in our small apartment.. this feels dicey. We are worried the cycle will never end!
So we asked for a full refund-- which they said they couldnt do, since the bed was out of its original packaging.
We got this new bed because Im pregnant and we needed a little more bed space.. but now we are very stuck and frustrated.
The wood looks beautiful and it seemed like it would be a perfect fit... but the process has been an absolute nightmare. And we are still stuck. I will update the review if the situation changes.. because I really really want to like this bed!
UPDATE1 : At this point they have given us a $100 discount and offered a replacement part. Still been too long a process to make that much of a consolation. Considering the time it will take to process a return and unlikeliness of a full refund we are trying again. Been an unpleasant experience
UPDATE 2: The bed company ended up sending a replacement part. And, yet again... It was from the wrong model! We just had the professional assembly company (offered with this bed) come out and they told us they wouldnt assemble it (even though it was just the drawer. Im pregnant, 2 months out from buying this bed.. with parts scattered across my room... and going to have to sleep on the mattress on the floor until this is resolved. Incredibly frustrated. Incredibly stuck. This bed has been a disaster.
UPDATE 3: The company sent the part. But now the assembly company canceled on me again-- last min-- after Ive already arranged my work schedule to accommodate. They scheduled a week later. I asked if they could give my 24 hours next time-- and they said Highly unlikely we could... So now Im on a call with customer service again.
UPDATE 4: said theyd try to get a different assembly company out sooner. But when I followed up they said they have no control over the companies scheudling. Its March 1st. I ordered this bed, with assembly on Dec 31st. Ive had to clear ou tmy room for the assembly team 4 times. Ive gone through 3 orders of the same shelf. ANd had two cancellations from the assembly company. This is reeking havoc on my work scheudle and I am still sleeping on the floor.
