    Update 2 yrs /just ok

UPDATE: 2 yrs later. The bed needs something between the mattress and the base. It just does not feel sturdy as is. For a bed w/trundle it still is better then a traditional daybed due to it taking up less space but my 11 yr old was bouncing around and came down on the metal frame and smacked the back of head and ended up with a nice size welt. If this is for a small child i would look for something else or maybe buy pool noodles to add some padding. I do not like the trundle at all. Its not sturdy enough and does not stay in place like it should under the bed. We took the bed down and put up a full. Almost wish I didnt spend the money on this bed. Its ok just nothing spectacular and doesnt fit our needs anymore if you are looking for a daybed but dont want the traditional spring base type bed, this is it. I have a small room and my old daybed overwhelmed the room and could only be placed in one spot but with this bed, I was able to put the bed in another area and not feel crowded. I would get a very nice mattress for both the bed and trundle or put a bunkie board underneath both. Very easy to put up and take down.
