Okay I want to start out by saying it's really gorgeous for the price. It's sturdy. All the parts were there. There were a few minor blemishes, but since I got the black frame it's not very noticeable. I was doing great putting it together until I missed a tiny piece. The G piece, the spacer between the headboard and the legs, I somehow missed that. Probably because my neighbor was here playing with the cat and distracting me. But I implore you - do NOT miss putting that piece in. If you don't the plastic clips for the slats will not fit properly. And rage will inevitably ensue. It's almost midnight and I've been cussing for a while, and just finished it. Because I had to take apart what I already did to fix MY mistake. There is also one extra piece for all of the bolts and little bits in case you lose one, so don't think you missed an important bolt somewhere like I did at first. Aside from my own mistake it was relatively easy to put together if you're mechanically inclined and good at putting furniture together. Having someone else to hold pieces up while you screw the bolts in is recommended, because it is pretty damn heavy. The only legitimate complaint I have is that the round pieces on the headboard have an issue with a few of them where the piece that you screw the bolt into spins once you tighten it so far. Not all of them, but like maybe 3? And they will spin if you push on them, so I may be readjusting them in the future. But overall I really do love it. I just know that when I move, the only thing I'm taking off to move it is the headboard and footboard. Because f that.
Edit- If you have hard floors you're going to need a rug under it or keep it against the wall. The middle support bars got loose because every time I sit on it, it slides, and it worked them loose. I had to put it against the wall, and tighten the screws, but it's fine now. Just something to keep in mind.
Also, I weigh about 360 and it's not falling apart or bending at all. My mom who weighs about 140 sat on it next to me and it didn't affect the sturdiness at all.
Beautiful but frustrating.
