Make sure you have a nonflippable mattress when you purchase
So, you cannot use a flippable mattress with this as the metal plats are not close enough together or wide enough and honestly it doesnt look right with a full size box spring. You will have to invest in the small box spring to offer mattress protection. Had we realized this we would not have purchased this particular bed. It is sturdy and nice to look at if we didnt have a full size box spring and mattress on it.
