    Mostly Solid Cabinet/

For a relatively small cabinet/ this requires a surprising amount of detailed assembly spanning 22 pages of instructions, not including the installation of its anti/tip feature to protect small children. Most of the parts, except for two diagonal rear panels, are made from Engineered wood, also called composite wood or man/made wood, which is coated with a light printed veneer surface. The two diagonal rear panels, which slide into place, add nothing to the structural strength of this cabinet and are made from what appears to be matching veneered cardboard. Once assembled this cabinet will fit nicely against a wall, as shown in my room, or in a corner. Probably best suited for a shore or beach house decor rather than a formal setting this cabinet is heavy and quite sturdy once assembled. It offers shelf areas behind the glass paneled doors for video/sound equipment or storage of CDs or DVDs. Having a variable speed drill or impact tool chucked with a Philips screwdriver will greatly expedite the assembly process. My bone to pick with manufacturer, which cost it one star, was that none of the holes for attaching the door hinges to the inside of the cabinet were pre/drilled. Yet those screw holes were the ones that were most needed to properly align the doors during installation. Correctly drilling those holes required some tedious measurements in tight places and some assistance from my wife to ensure that the doors would swing and close properly. Although that process ended well for me, I believe that it involved effort that should not have been necessary.
