Took me about 1.5 hours to assemble by myself. No smell. Nothing defective . Just read instructions carefully. Super happy about my purchase. Looks amazing in person. I bought the size in full for my small studio apartment. Fits perfectly . I also purchased a 12 inch mattress. Will upload photos when the mattress is placed on top !
