The wood is stamped poorly to follow instructions, there is only 1 support piece underneath (so I added 2 more), the screws and pegs are all together so have fun sorting everything when you open the boxes, and the stairs are only secured to the bed in the back (had to get supplies to secure it myself in the front.
You will need a drill for some pieces or work very hard with the allen wrenches.
The packaging is very safe if it's left outside though, no pieces were warped or broken.
Had to add a guard rail because it's flush with a regular mattress and not the tatami mat shown in the product's pictures.
Customer service was poor because I was supposed to be alerted by the company when it was in stock. They did not do that. I called them and thankfully was able to get one of the last ones before it ran out of stock again.
This is a project, not a simple solution, but if you want/need to build up in your room to maximize space, I recommend it. The stairs intrigued me the most because we have animals and it's easier to get up those than a ladder, also going down if you need to go to the bathroom half asleep.
