Nice functional couch - may have strong chemical smell
For Black Friday, this couch was on sale by almost $100 off. I purchased three. Two of these bonded leather went I me, and a cloth couch went to my mother.
The couches arrived a whole week ahead of schedule. The box was brought to my front door by the carrier. The box is HEAVY. Assembling the first couch took about an hour between my husband and I. One of the middle legs did not fit (the one in the front). We had to change legs and one pushed while the other twisted. We made it work. Once put together, the couch is perfect for a tv room, childrens play area or the like. It is definitely not a formal living room couch. I would consider this a functional couch, it is not fancy.
For the second couch, my brother and I took 30 minutes to put together. The same middle front leg not fitting was an issue. We changed legs and put them in one way and the other and the other, pushed and twisted... Finally, the leg worked.
Again, good quality for a functional couch. The back cushion is thick which makes the sitting area narrow. But, the back cushion gives enough for tall people to lean back and fit. I think with use, it should be ok. The seat is firm. But, its fine for watching tv and for the kids.
My brother put together my moms cloth couch that is exactly the same as this. He and my mom complained of a horrible chemical smell coming from the seat cushions. They said that when my brother cut open the vacuum sealed plastic the seat cushions come in, the smell hit them hard. My mother said she got a headache from the smell. My brother asked me if we had the same experience with our first couch. I told him that we did not. That is the reason he helped me with the assembly of our second couch. Our second couch also did not have the chemical smell that their cloth couch had.
I walked into my moms house this morning, her house smells like chemical, similar to burned tire. Its cold in our area so she cant open the windows to air out the smell right now. She had to come to my house and bring her dogs so she could turn off the heater and open the windows to air out her house to get rid of the checmical smell. Again, the smell was from the cloth couch, not either of our two bonded leather couches.
